Saro, 24years old, is from Iran. He’s been in The Netherlands for three months and is waiting for his asylum procedure to begin. Saro likes to dress up in women’s clothes. He’s from a religious family in the Kurdish region of Iran. His father is an imam, his uncle and grandfather were also imams. The moment Saro no longer accepted religion and also appeared to be gay, his father threw him out of the house. His mother rejected him as well. Saro started his own hair dresser’s, but was threatened there too because he “shamed the city.” He fled to Turkey, until he had enough money to pay for the crossing to Europe and to the safety of The Netherlands.
