Speaking on the plan, Singh said constructing a metro track could cost around ₹300 crore per kilometre, whereas laying a regular railway track for the Namo Bharat system would cost about ₹30 crore per kilometre. According to him, this significant difference in infrastructure cost would help reduce overall expenditure while still improving transport connectivity between the Twin Cities.
