Dice getting away from you?! Making too much noise as you play?! In this weeks video I show you how I made a felt-lined dice rolling tray, from Sapele and Oak, that keeps everything quiet and contained - and looks good too! 👇 Links to tools/materials below👇 TOOLS/EQUIPMENT If you are interested in the tools and equipment I use in this video you can find all the information you need here: 👉 https://kit.co/mikeparsonscc 👈 I also built a matching D&D Miniatures Storage Box, check it out here: • Making a Custom DnD Box! ~ DIY Woodworking Enjoy this build? SOCIAL MEDIA/BEHIND THE SCENES If you want to see more of what I do check out my content here: https://linktr.ee/mikeparsonscc BUILD PROCESS I started off by resawing some Sapele offcuts and planing them down to size. I then cut the outer panels of the tray using my table saw sled with the blade set to 45 degrees before getting back to 90 degrees to cut the center separating piece. 5mm hardwood plywood was used for the bottoms and was fitted by cutting a dado into the sides and wrapping everything together during the glue up. Oak splines were added to the mitred joints for additional strength before everything was sanded to 120 grit. The edges of the tray were beveled using my homemade router table and the inside corners finished off with a Chisel. Off camera I also added a single brace to the underside of the larger area as I wanted to prevent it acting like a drum when in use. It worked, and the sound of dice falling is reduced significantly. Everything was then sanded to 240 grit before applying 2 coats of OSMO Polyx as a finish. Finally I cut out some deep red felt and glued it to the bottom of both tray areas to finish it off and further reduce noise as much as possible. #tabletop #boardgame #woodworking
