In this message from Matthew 5:1–12, we continue through the Beatitudes with Jesus’ words, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Our culture often chases happiness, something temporary and dependent on circumstances, but Jesus offers something deeper, blessedness, an objective, lasting life rooted in God’s grace and our response to Him. This sermon confronts our cultural idea of the good life and shows how mourning reveals a truth we often resist, we are not in control. Jesus does not promise quick fixes or easy resolution, He promises comfort, His presence, His care, and His nearness in the middle of grief, loss, and pain. If you have been carrying sorrow, avoiding pain, or trying to numb what is heavy, this message will help you process your grief with God, not around Him, and find real comfort where you actually are. Psalm 56:8 reminds us God sees every tear, and none of your pain is wasted or overlooked. 📖 Scripture: Matthew 5:1–12 Key verse: Matthew 5:4 Supporting scripture: Psalm 56:8 (NLT)
