High Speed Pursuit, Foot Chase (ON TAPE) & Perp Search, El Cajon

EL CAJON - May 26, 2013 - Skip to 01:11 for the footage of officers and I running to where the suspect was hiding and her being taken in to custody. Good action shots. CHP is handling the vehicle part and El Cajon PD is handling the suspect/search. A woman is in custody after a high speed pursuit throughout El Cajon (and La Mesa?), reaching speeds of 110 MPH on city streets and blowing red lights. Pursuing officers terminated the pursuit for safety reasons, but found the vehicle shortly after, unoccupied. As things were dying down, someone called 911 stating there was a woman in their backyard. Officers (and myself) immediately began running up the street to the address. A K9 unit also ran in with us. The woman complied and was taken in to custody. A few minutes later ASTREA spotted two heat sources resembling bodies in what appeared to be a shed nearby to where the woman was taken in to custody. El Cajon PD checked the two people, who seemed to live there, and then cleared without incident. Radio traffic stated that the woman's name is "Mica" (unknown spelling) and that she had a prior for burglary and was possibly 5150 (mental case).
