Savio Mascarenhas is a celebrated Indian comic book artist and the Group Art Director at Amar Chitra Katha Pvt. Ltd., where he has played a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of both Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle comics for over three decades. Growing up with a passion for drawing, Savio began his career freelancing for Tinkle before joining the team full-time in 1994, eventually co-creating beloved characters like Little Shambu, Mopes and Purr, Janoo and Wooly Woo, and Super Suppandi. He also continued illustrating Shikari Shambu, one of Tinkle’s most iconic heroes, for more than two decades. Beyond his artwork, Savio is known for his advocacy of Visual Art Learning (VAL) as a powerful educational tool and regularly conducts comic-making workshops for children and adults alike.
