The Switch 2, the Steam Deck, and the ROG Xbox Ally are all modern portable consoles quite popular and quite powerful. So powerful in fact that not only these consoles are fairly physically big, but also do not have exclusives like previous portable consoles like the 3DS and the PS Vita, games designed to be played on the go. This might appear to be a minor difference, however I believe the rabbit hole goes deeper; I believe that consoles like the DS and the PSPs have fundamental different game design philosophies to current portable consoles. The reasons why I believe older portable consoles were made differntly are many, in this video I will share them all.
