If the large set completes collections for some fans, while giving others a good place to start, that’s a win-win (or a SUPER MEGA WIN!) for everyone. As-is means longtime collectors spend $80 to get three exclusive keys, then a Morpher and 17 keys they already own. They’ve paid for a bunch of duplicates while still left with an incomplete collection. If new collectors continue collecting, they’ll also end up with duplicates and incomplete teams. Having a large pack to complete the collection satisfies first time and long time collectors. it's 20 random keys no matter how you look at it, so why not have it complete missing teams for other fans vs having them spend $80 on repeats? Those same repeats were still on store shelves and online. My way pleases everybody. Furthermore, I'm sure some fans missed out on those three exclusives, unable to justify $80 for what should have been $8. Bandai usually has reasons for things, this one stumps me. I call it a fail. I don't get it, why can't Bandai America purchase the molds of Gokaiger ranger keys and paint them with high quality like these? Saves cost and improve profits. Bandai America’s Ranger Keys are smaller than Gokaiger’s, but they’re fully painted, spring-loaded, and worked with a scanner app. Japan’s Gokaiger keys cost more, sometimes required assembly, some needed stickers to be applied vs full paint, and didn’t flip. Different markets have different priorities, and what works in Japan doesn’t always align with the U.S. audience or budget.The Gokaiger molds belong to Bandai Japan, Bandai America would have to license or purchase them, which isn’t always cost-effective. Each market has its own budget and production standards, so Bandai America creates their own molds to fit their target audience and price points. High-quality paint and materials increase costs. Bandai America had used Japanese molds for a long time. If that way still saved time and increased profits, don't you think somebody would have thought to go back to that? DX Shinken-Oh and DX Gosei Great were recently imported and sold at Toys R Us alongside the U.S. toys. They were better quality, and more expensive. Big surprise, the imports were canceled after just two releases. Parents wouldn't pay $80 for a Megazord when a similar version existed for $29, and adult fans largely didn't support the releases either.
