Photographing Trees. How hard can it be? Well, actually very: messy backgrounds, similar tonal ranges and plenty of distraction make it very hard for trees to stand out in the photograph. In this video, I will talk you through the photographs I took in Wasdale (Lake District National Park). I have used a range of techniques to produce 3 very different photographs of trees. I have used techniques such as differential focus, using a shallow depth of field (DOF). I have also produced monochrome photographs of the trees, showing how tonal manipulation can make them stand out. So next time your out photographing in the forests and woodlands hopefully you can think back to this Vlog and get a little bit of inspiration or some ideas to try out. As a bonus, I have continued the story by producing these videos showing how I have edited the final images.
