Fun 4v4. A Master league Terran player tries to box me in by building stealing my nearest expansions. He does slow down my macro, but 2 bases is still enough for me to force my way out. I use a somewhat unconventional approach to Protoss gameplay now. I build everything in tight clusters, with many shield batteries, and lots of photon cannons at the choke points. I usually have every building covered by at least 2 shield batteries, sometimes 3-4, and double/triple pylons so he can never shut down my entire defensive formation just by targeting a few pylons(which he did try unsuccessfully), and everything is super resilient thanks to the shield batteries and shield upgrades I always work on first, even though it is pricey. Normally I would of had 4 bases by the time the match ended, but I was content to efficiently protect my teams right flank, which allowed my team mates to safely attack without worrying about being invaded from my side. Plus, I still had my army almost to full supply limit anyways by the end of the match, so I am happy to see that even with only 2 bases, I can still outmuscle an opponent with double the economy I had using this play style. Honestly though, his strategy needed to work early game to be effective because marines are too weak to rely on that much later game, he should have relocated his buildings as soon as he saw my defensive line, and changed his strategy to heavier units like tanks and Vikings or Battlecruisers. Even if he had somehow managed to destroy all my defenses at the ramp, my sentries could have still walled it off anyways and kept him out, and as soon as I had DTs and Immortals assisting my Zealot/Sentry army, he didnt have the firepower to stop me and was already defeated. Sentries are one of my favorite units now, their guardian shield ability buffs every unit within range and gives /Terran/Zerg allies a huge boost in resiliency, and the force field ability allows me to block huge waves of banelings/zergling/marine swarms , allowing us to pick them off before they even manage to do any serious damage, which makes Zerg players VERY salty. I usually do not build Colossus, I find my current unit composition very effective, but these opponents were going for sheer numbers so I made a few, though they never got a chance to see any combat. This play style flows very smoothly, I never hit any blocks with supply or resources, I am always expanding, building units, upgrading at a nice pace.
