I managed to finish Chapter 12 before the end of the weekend; just barely! Chapter 12 is one of the toughest in the entire game, and it was extremely difficult to get a clean run. I made several attempts at getting through without dying, but ended up settling for checkpoints in several spots. It doesn't help that the most difficult sections come later in the chapter, so after getting through the first 3rd of it "unscathed," and falling short enough times, I decided to just play to each checkpoint. Chapter 12 has 23 chests (one of which is a mission item), 2 gourdys, a pretty tough purgatory gate, and 3 "mini bosses" (Onikawa, Proto-Goliath, and the D.D.O. Commander). At the start of this chapter, I was left with only one post-game mission remaining (defeat 3 D.D.O. Goliaths with the Kage), and since I had already taken one down in the Chapter 11 Purgatory Gate, I only needed to finish off two more. Thankfully, they throw two of them at you in the very first enemy encounter! I wound up turning in the mission during one of my "dry run" attempts and earned the trophy "Work Horse" that is given after completing ALL missions. I was a bit disappointed to learn that it would appear Ryu is not given any additional missions in his upcoming sections of the story mode. I'm going to try and get the next chapter done soon, but I really want to spend some time practicing against Kagachi and Achilles to make the fights as entertaining as I can muster. We'll see how that goes I guess. I've seen some other players going total BEAST MODE on Kagachi, and I know I'm not quite at that level of skill, but I have plenty of inspiration, that's for sure.
