Crowds of displaced Palestinians made the arduous journey back to heavily destroyed northern Gaza for a second day on Tuesday, under a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The United Nations said Tuesday that more than 375,000 Palestinians returned to the north since Israel started letting them on Monday. Families are walking for hours along a seaside road with whatever belongings and food they can carry. Others are preparing to leave the squalid tent camps and former schools where they’ve been sheltering in the south. Many say they're happy to return, even though their homes in northern Gaza are likely damaged or destroyed.
