This Randomland road trip follows Interstate 10 through Deming, Lordsburg, Steins Ghost Town, San Simon, and Willcox - exploring abandoned highway towns, forgotten Old West history, and one of the wildest small town museums in the Southwest. The day starts in Deming, New Mexico filming old downtown before visiting the legendary Deming Luna Mimbres Museum. Housed inside a former National Guard Armory, this massive museum is packed wall to wall with Mimbres pottery, historic artifacts, military relics, local history rooms, and endless odd collections that feel impossible for a town this size. Heading west on I-10, the road passes through the crumbling remnants of Lordsburg before stopping at Bowlin's Continental Divide, a classic roadside trading post sitting directly on the Continental Divide. Just down the highway sits Steins Ghost Town, a deserted railroad town visible from the interstate and slowly disappearing into the desert. Crossing into Arizona through San Simon, the journey ends in Willcox, Arizona at the grave and murder site of Warren Earp, the least known Earp brother, whose violent end happened here far from Tombstone. If you’re searching for Deming New Mexico, Mimbres Museum, Lordsburg ghost town, Steins New Mexico, San Simon Arizona, Willcox Arizona history, Warren Earp grave, or an I-10 New Mexico Arizona road trip - this is the route.
