Rummu is a former prison in Estonia. This labor camp was built in 1940 by the former Soviet Union just outside the town of Rummu in the north of the country. After the country's independence in 1990, the place was completely abandoned. This urbex location still holds files of the former forced workers and lots of other memories of the past. You can visit both the old prison and the adjacent quarry, where the prisoners had to work. The quarry is a wonderful site with its steep walls of sand and buildings in het blue clear water. Anyone who sees the video of Rummu will be amazed.
