I’m in Germany for the night before heading back to the Tønder Festival! Here’s a Scottish tune, “The Ale is Dear”, that I learned from André Brunet back in the day, so I’ve always thought of it as French-Canadian as well. Great tune and super fun on the fiddle. I was reunited with my favorite beer last night, Tuborg beer, which I can only find in Denmark, so the ale was dear to me indeed!
