Following the success of their 2020 National Day original that saw them garner 30,000 views in 24 hours, shared by Ministers and various media outlets back then, MADDspace is back with their new 2022 National Day release entitled: "What Our Singapore Will Be" The uplifting and catchy number is composed and arranged by John Khoo, CEO of MADDspace - School of Music, Art, Drama & Dance and Vocal Director of the Singapore Children's & Youth Show Choir. John is a songwriter, music producer and vocal coach highly sought after both locally and internationally. He started his performing journey at the age of 15 years old, where he performed alongside Tanya Chua at the National Day Parade, singing "Where I Belong" in the National Stadium back in 2001. Looking at the future of Singapore in the eyes of the younger generation is what the song is trying to do. Singapore is known internationally to be a gleaming city of the future, a global financial centre surrounded by well planned out architecture, beautiful skylines and lush greenery. To the younger generation, there is much more to what Singapore means to them apart from all these glitz and glamour, and the lyrics of the song perfectly describes what Singapore means to the youths around, a place for "friends and family" and where "dreams and hopes take flight". To bring out the essence of the song, three extremely talented 13 year olds were roped in to co-write the lyrics for the song. They are Ho Mei Xuan from School Of The Arts (SOTA), Kendrea Lam from Riverside Secondary School and Claire Shi from Raffles Girls School. Over 120 performers are involved in this epic original production, with the youngest performer being only 3 years old. The song is led by some of the most amazing, talented young performers of MADDspace. This includes Jordin Tan, 13, from Anglican High School, who was involved in singing the National Day theme song back in 2019. The song also features Gabrielle Tay, 15, from SJI International High School, who was also recently casted in Sound Of Music Singapore. The video is conceptualised by Adly Azizi and Cher Ng, with videography and editing done by Goh Mingwei, co-founder of The White Dojo and singer from popular local acappella group Micappella.
