RodeCaster Video: Let's Go Live & New Elgato Prompter XL 2.5 X Larger

I unboxed this Rodecaster Video Live last week and I know I'm way late to the party but I have arived and will do my best to Go LIVE with this New Switcher by Rode and give you my first impressions after using it for a week in October 2025. Also we will take a look at the Bigger and Badder Elgato Prompter XL and what the fixed that people asked for in the Original. Yes it's Bigger and it has some new abilities that make it perhaps more usuable for larger cameras and Larger lenses. I you want to speed past all the YouTube Static sound issues go to 43:20 in the stream or scroll to the bottom of this and click on the cchpater markers you want! Last nights Live Audio crackeling issue was on the Live only nothing was doing than static in my Program recording on the =Rodecaster video or in the studio head phones. I did have my big scree TV on the YouTube channe so I could hear thew issue witrh the 5 second delay. So other than the fact it hasppened and I'm testing now on Wednesday the day after the stream to see if I have the NDI dark contrast issue as I was using the Rode Capture iPhone application it worked fine before I went live but was not working rate in the back half of my stream. RodeCaster Viedeo: https://rode.com/en-us/products/rodec... 00:00 - Intro Countdown 07:39 - Welcome to the first ever Rodecaster Video Switcher Live from my studio 11:10 - Update on when I got the New RodeCaster Video 11:50 - Tonights plan 12:01 - Chat via OBS and Rodecaster video key on the air for the first time 12:28 - Say Hi to those on with me Live 13:07 - Hear the relief in my voice when I see chat working on air listen at 13:17 "Big Sigh!" 13:45 - Lyp Sync Test 14:24 - The Microphone I'm using tonight into the Rodecaster video Combo input 1 16:02 - New audio interface for tonights live stream plus a back up! 17:11 - Davic confirms my audio is fine at this point in the live stream. 18:27 - Audio encoding issue begins at this moment in the stream and I can hear it becasue it's on the stream only! 19:46 - I get told in the chat that audio has dropped out of some ones stream 20:20 - Someone else says they arte having audio issues 20:39 - My headphones are sounding great and they are listening to the Live Stream Sudio 21:13 - Chat recomends I listen to the YouTube Stream and I test it Live. 21:50- I hear it live from my phone for the first time static in the Live YouTube Audio 22:30 - I changed to the RodeCaster Pro II Wireless Go II Micropone and enable audio in USB 5 of the Live Stream Rodecaster Video so I have bypassed the Combo 1 input and it is still bad on YouTube 23:30 - Now we look at the effects that I have on based on a user chat inside the RodeCaster Pro II (Rabit trail realy at this point but I am still wondering if it's on my end no on YouTubes end. 26:56 - I even change the xlr and loose audio for a few minutes trouble shooting my end.I have Combo 2 jack disabled inb the Live Stream mix and can't seem to gert it in why I am Live. 28:28 - I change the Podmic xlr back to combo 1 from combo 2 input on the Rodecaster video 29:23 - I am now convinced it's on the broadcast side after it leaves the encoding. That could be inside the Rodecaster Video Encoder or YouTube 31:40 - I stop Iso recording to see if that helps the issue and try moving the Podmic to the RodeCaster Pro II and back again to the Rodecaster Video Combo 1 36:00 - Tried everything on my end to no avail the chats helps me with what now! 37:00 - I turn all the effects off and try that as well as check stream bit rate 39:26 - What the chat recomends for me to try. One says restart Rodecaster Video and then go back live 41:20 - I take the advice of the Chat and prepare to reboot the equipment and go back live. 42:30 - We are back and it's working. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I passed the TEST 43:18 - I say, "that was a lot of fun!" I may have spoke with "BIG faith" not transparency... sort of! Set Back UP: 45:30 - Learning to roll with "Good Times" and the "Bad Times!" All the things I did you did not see because YouTube paused why I was gone off the ar for about 5 minutes aty least. 49:12- Rodecaster Video overhead shot what I have hooked up for audio and video inputs 51:32 - I bring NDI Video on channel 6 from ther Rode Capture application on my iPhone 13Pro 1:01:12 - The Rodecaster Pro II inb my set up tonight 1:20:01 - Elgato Prompter XL 1:27:15- After fixing some more audio inputs we move on with the Rodecaster video 1:28:26- A look at multi-view/Software/ The Rodecaster Video at the same time 1:59:26 - My thoughts so far after tonight and a week with the Rodecaster Video 2:22:45 - Demo video in background with boxes in front in Multi-View yet you cant have more than one video at a time play. 2:26:26 - Thank you everyone for the support and understanding as I learn Live! 2:29:45 - Outro Video
