If you're new to my channel welcome, if not welcome back. This is Part 4 of 6 of my Grand European Viking Cruise Series. Between June 5-19, 2025 my wife, Paulette, and I took the Grand European Viking River Tour. It started at Budapest ending at Amsterdam. The top sun deck of these ships provided an excellent launch platform from which to send the drone along the rivers to capture footage of various stops. These included Budapest, Vienna, Wurzburg, Wertheim, Koblenz and Cologne. Kinderdyk was captured in an earlier video frrom 2023. This video offers an aerial overview of Wertheim, Germany on June 15, 2025 in 4K. Captured at 60-80m meters above the Main and Tauber Rivers. Soaring 60–80 meters above the Rhine-Main Delta, Wertheim unfolds as a medieval tapestry woven by two rivers. The turquoise Tauber curls into the slate-blue Main like a liquid embrace, cradling the town’s triangular heart. Dominating this confluence, the ruins of Burg Wertheim (c. 12th century) stand sentinel—a skeletal fortress of red sandstone, scarred by the Thirty Years' War yet defiantly perched atop its vineyard-clad hill . Below, the Alte Mainbrücke stretches across the water, its 15th-century arches studded with weathered saintly statues, while half-timbered houses in hues of ochre and crimson cluster in the Altstadt (Old Town). To the east, factory smokestacks—relics of Wertheim’s industrial pulse—trace smokey plumes against forests that once sheltered Celtic tribes. This is where Franconia’s past and present merge: in the Gothic spire of Stiftskirche, the angelic figures of Engelsbrunnen fountain (1574), and the glassblowing workshops that ignite tradition into art .
