I am supposed to fly to Kuantan, with a stop in KL Int'l, however my flight to Kuantan was cancelled last minute, most likely due to poor loads. There was no alternative flights to Kuantan, so I had to burn my KUL-KUA sector (weird clause prevented me to claim this sector) and opted to travel on land to get to Kuantan. The repavement works and aerobridge upgrading of Bay 2 (i.e. Gate 2) is finally completed. The airport management had quickly started the repavement works at Bay 3 (or Gate 3), with NOTAM released. A fuss was made publicly on a local Chinese newspaper recently, where a reader misidentified Bay 3 for Bay 2, and complained on the public space about the 'prolonged works on Bay 2 that brought shame to Miri Airport' as the surface slabs of Bay 3 had already been removed and was collecting rainwater. Another local Chinese newspaper picked up on this and made it into one of the news article. One Facebook user branded it a 'fake news' as upgrade works in Bay 2 had long been completed. Without confirming, the news outlet publicly lambasted the Facebook user, producing 'evidence' released by MYY airport management about Bay 2's upgrading works. Their lack of professional journalism is absolutely disgusting. Anywho, I flew my return trip back to MYY, and did something extremely dumb - I travelled to T2 to access the Plaza Premium Lounge and went back to T1 again. I wasted RM4 for the 6-minute train travel between the terminals, and got myself tired - I wasn't able to relax before my flight. Never will I do this again... Enjoy the trip report!
