History Of Gurdwara Ali Baig In this video we will show you approximately 224 years old, historical but deserted 3 storeys Gurdwara “Ali Baig” which was constructed by Sant Sundar Singh in 1801 during the Skih era. A Baradari, Dharam Shala, Anchorage, Pond Of Water and especially 2 Basements were constructed in this historical Gurdwara. Ever this Gurdwara was beautiful but now it has been deserted and is presenting a view of ruins. This is the tradition of Sikhs that their spiritual leader passed which area they built a Gurdwara in his remembrance. Baba Guru Nanak Sahib also came here and stayed at this place therefore this Gurdwara was constructed. The old name of this village was Kirtan Garh. In 1799, when Maharaja Ranjit Singh occupied on Punjab and took regime than he allocated hundreds acres of land for this Gurdwara at that time. The construction of this Gurdwara is a mixture of Hindu, Mughal and Sikh architecture. The ceramic tiles which were used for the construction of this Gurdwara brought from England at that time. This ancient building saved during the terrible earthquake of 2005. Before the partition Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs lived together they had love and harmony among themselves. The Jamia Mosque behind this Gurdwara is alive proof of this religious harmony. There was a Khalsa Model School in this village where the children of all religions had been got free education. At the time of establishment of Pakistan 5000 Sikhs refugees stayed here and than they went Lahore by train after that they crossed Wagah Border. In 2019, the Chief Justice Of Azad Jammu And Kashmir ordered the Government to restore this historical Gurdwara but this order remain in the papers only. A Sikh NGO International Sikh Federation showed interest to restore this Gurdwara but this dream is not fulfill yet. But this is a historical and tourist place and history lovers should visit this place. This Gurdwara is situated in District Bhimber of Azad Jammu And Kashmir.
