In this video I’ll show you how I create a tiny, photoreal miniature cake setup using polymer clay / air-dry clay (you can use either) — perfect for dollhouses, magnets, charms, and display trays. Follow along step-by-step for cake layers, realistic icing, fruit & chocolate toppers, assembly, and final styling on a mini stand. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN • How to build even cake layers and stack them neatly. • How to create smooth/realistic icing and pipe tiny decorations. • How to make miniature toppers (flowers, strawberries, chocolate pieces). • How to arrange a cake on a mini stand / plate and style a miniature dessert setup. • Tips to avoid cracking, achieve realistic texture, and photograph your mini. MATERIALS (suggested) • Polymer clay (Sculpey/Fimo) or homemade air-dry / cold porcelain clay (white, brown, pink, cream) — choose based on your finish preference. • Liquid polymer clay or gloss varnish (for shiny frosting/ganache) if using polymer clay. • Thin blade / blade tool, round cutters (1 cm or less), needle tool, silicone shapers, tiny paintbrushes. • Pasta machine or rolling pin for even layers, oven (for polymer clay) or dry space for air-dry pieces. for Base we need pop stick and small Magnets STEP-BY-STEP (short) 1. Condition clay and roll out even sheets for cake layers. Use a cutter to get circles. 2. Stack layers with a thin “filling” strip (soft clay or liquid clay) and press gently. 3. Create icing: thinly roll a frosting sheet or pipe thin ropes for piped edges; smooth with silicone tools. 4. Make toppers: shape tiny strawberries/flowers/chocolate shards and add texture with a needle tool. 5. Bake (polymer clay) following package temps or let air-dry pieces cure slowly; sand and paint if needed. 6. Assemble on a mini stand/plate, add finishing glaze/sealant, and style props (tiny fork, napkin). PRO TIPS (must read) • For super smooth icing use rolled thin sheets and gently warm with a hairdryer on low, then smooth — but be careful with temperature on air-dry clay. • Use an oven thermometer and low temperature for polymer clay (common practice: ~225°F / 107°C—follow package). Overheating burns clay and causes odor. • To avoid cracking on air-dry pieces, dry slowly (no direct sun or hot fan); for large pieces, slow the drying by covering with a perforated bag. #S2ACraft #MiniatureFood #MiniCake #PolymerClay #airdryclay LINKS / SHOP / FOLLOW Subscribe ► https://tinyurl.com/mvwj65ex Instagram ► / s2a_craft Facebook / photos If you enjoyed this, please LIKE + SUBSCRIBE and comment which mini cake flavor you want next (chocolate, red velvet, or strawberry?).
