DIY / How To fix: Lexus RX400 Hybrid PART 11 Water is leaking into the hybrid battery! Check hybrid system + Check VSC system Video no. 2, about the same problem! PROBLEMS CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM + CHECK VSC SYSTEM Suddenly I got several error messages on my RX400h! They came up while I was driving. Check hybrid system + check VSC system. 2 messages that I wouldn't say are logical to come up at the same time! When I got home, it worked. But when I wanted to start it again later in the evening, it refused to start! I searched the internet and found an emergency solution, disconnecting the battery, then reconnecting it. At least then I got it started again! But that wasn't the final solution! In video no. 1, I replaced the 12V battery. And everything looked fine for a few days. But it rained a lot!!! After a few days the problem was back! Now it was just a matter of rolling up my sleeves and starting the much bigger job. The problem is probably water, which has leaked from the roof and into the car. Further into the space where the large hybrid battery is located. It is located under the rear seats of these cars! • Dismantling the rear seats • Dismantling the floor carpet under the rear seats, with air vents • Opening the drainage holes, which had become clogged • Drying up the water that was under the battery • Finding where the leak is • Dismantling the roof rails • Sealing possible places where water can penetrate • Putting everything back together! Tools used: • Ratchet • Extensions • Rotating piece for the ratchet • 10 mm (for 2 screws for seat belts from the seat and rear of the body) • 12 mm • 14 mm • T27 torx to unscrew the valves in the floor carpet • Plastic crowbar • Sealant, e.g. silicone or other sealant, which retains some flexibility! #lexushybrid #checkhybridsystem #rx400h #lexus #toyotacamry ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Video nr 2, om same problem! ----------------------------------- Disclaimer! ----------------------------------------------- The videos are made by an untrained mechanic! All the videos are therefore to be regarded as my own experiences, and no conclusion. The videos show what I have done, and the result does not always have to be as desired. Sometimes things go directly wrong, and then I try to find out what went wrong, and try to set a better example so that others will not have to make the same mistake as me. The videos were filmed by myself, and it may have been unknowingly missing to include ALL the details. I try my best to find out what I do and what I find out. But getting cameras in the right places is not always easy! Very important!!! Do not take any chances with safety, neither your own nor anyone else's! Never work under a car, without and double security. Things can happen, so you must always have extra safety in case something should break or overturn, etc. Working on cars poses a danger no matter what. So be aware, and if you do not feel 100% sure of the result, rather ask others to help you or double check what you have done, before you expose yourself and others to danger! ---------------------------- Social ------------------------------- Home page: http://www.bildillamagasin.no Facebook: / bildilla-magasin-215613725246898 Instagram: / lermax_cars
