January flew by fast. I'm starting to believe a friend who's a big proponent of energies. She's mentioned this year brings a lot of heat and this is what's causing the fast pace life or feeling that we're currently experiencing. I don't exactly know what she means, but I believe her. I hope all may be easy for everyone here, enjoy the music, & know that everything will be alright :) ________________________________________ This set is an amalgamation of my feelings and thoughts about nature. Lately I’ve realized my body's been yearning to be with nature, hippy-shit aside — going to rivers, hiking, just being somewhere quiet with trees and open space. Whenever we have time, Ekin and I try to get out of the city. We're also exploring the option of eventually living somewhere remote, near the beach or the forest, a bit off-grid, just making stuff and enjoying life slower. @00:59 This is a dancing leaf right in front of me while recording this set. I jokingly say, "I have a crowd!" but Ekin told me about this Malaysian folklore: if you see one leaf dancing while the forest is dead still, it’s a portal. It will lead you into another world with the orang bunian as what she calls them. Nature - sometimes it’s beautiful, sometimes it’s uncomfortable, sometimes it’s actually scary. You know when you’re deep in a trail or hike, there’s always that small thought of “we could get lost.” It’s chaotic, but there’s still structure to it so you don't feel as scared. Does that make sense? That’s what inspired this set. Normally, I plan my DJ sets very tightly — energy up, down, everything. This time I didn’t. There are long tracks, slower moments, parts that feel like they drag a bit but who tf cares? Mother nature does what she wants :) Also, theres a lot of sounds here that I think some inaudible things/creatures in the forest make if they had the capability to produce sound lol enjoy! _______________________________________ Dedicated to the universal act of the groove Indak is a sonic shelter.
