Royce 642 was made in 1978 during the peak of the C B boom. At the time of the boom, everybody was CB'ing and spending money. Royce, GE, Cobra, Courier, Browning, Tram, CPI, Stoner.... were all on the CB Bandwagon competing for that CB dollar. All came out with top of the line bases at the time, and this was Royce's best. Those were good times. The Royce 642 was a full featured AM/SSB 40 channel PLL base with: 3 meters, RF/S meter, SWR calibration meter, and SWR readout meter Tone Control Clock with alarm Noise Blanker, switchable ANL, switchable AGC switchable CB and PA volume control AM/SSB/USB and transmit indicators 70db rejection The 642 is one of the best receiving transistor CB's I have ever heard. The ANL and Noise Blanker maybe the best I have heard. The 70db rejection is very good, the tone control helps dial in the sound, and as said by the manual, with switchable AGC, you can turn the AGC off and hear a pure unadulterated signal. Transmit is good, but I would not say the best. This one is unmolested, not even peaked. It is mint in original box, with original Mic, DC power cord, and a nice original manual with tune-up and schematics. IMHO, this is one of the top transistor radios made of all time.
