The movie is about a 14 year old P.5 girl who had dreams of being in school but her dreams vanished in thin air after her father failed to pay her fees simply because she's a girl who will after all marry off however level of education she attains. She is forcefully dropped out of school by her father and given to an old man whom the father and Aunt thought was wealthy enough. However much her mother tried to stand by her side, it was all in vein because it's only the man who decides for the family. UNICEF's 2011 research showed that Uganda is one of the countries with the highest early and forced teenage marriage. 10% of girls Married off before age of 15 and 40% of girls Married off before their 18th birthday. Most parents especially fathers living in Uganda's poorest households see their daughters as a source of wealth as she can fetch bride price from her husband's family when she marries. We believe that the story from this movie "LOST HOPE" will change parent's perceptions and allow young girls achieve their education dreams because when you educate a girl you educate the whole Nature.
