Lies of P - Laxasia the Complete Boss Fight (Parry Focus)

This was by far the hardest boss fight in the entire game for me but also my new favorite fight as well. If there was ever any boss to mimic the iconic Malenia I think this boss would be it. I spent hours of attempts and it felt great to finally clutch it out at the end, even if I had no heals and was just one hit away from death. I honestly just love phase 1 of this fight, it is so satisfying to parry her attacks, especially that 12 hit combo attack she does. No super long and drawn out delays throughout them, well telegraphed and has a very nice rhythm to it. All of her attacks in this phase feel good to parry though dodging and spacing work just as well. Phase 2 is a whole separate beast of a fight, the speed is dialed up to 11 and she is lightning fast. It’s an amazing spectacle and a super intense fight but damn is it hard to dodge and parry her attacks with how fast they come out. I did resort to more parrying instead of dodging here I think it helped with reducing the damage I took when I wasn’t able to perfect deflect. It also feels great being able to deflect her lightning back at her, deflecting projectiles back will never not be cool to me. My only real gripe for an other wise great fight is how difficult it is to stagger her in phase 2. She moves around so fast it’s hard to hit her and even if you do if she has her shield up she can block your attack and prevent you from getting a stagger. Then when you do stagger her, she continues to do a whole attack string before you can actually riposte her. To me it’s pretty excessive and kind of breaks the games on rules for staggering just to throw you off. Other than that, this is a really well designed difficult fight with a very well designed character as well ;)
