Sean Scannell powered managerless Huddersfield Town past Leicester City and into The FA Cup with Budweiser Fifth Round. The Promotion-chasing Foxes had already beaten their Yorkshire opponents home and away in The Championship -- including a 6-1 home win on New Year's Day. But Huddersfield gained their revenge thanks to Scannell's late strike, which sets up a meeting with Wigan Athletic on Sunday afternoon. The Terriers have been without a manager since Simon Grayson's departure on 24 January but they could have a new boss in charge in time for Wigan's visit, after it was announced during the game that they had been given permission to speak to Coventry manager Mark Robins. But caretaker manager Mark Lillis, in what could be his final game in charge, will be proud of the manner in which his side secured their onward progression in the competition. Leicester had earned the replay thanks to Chris Woods' late header in January's initial meeting, but the New Zealand hitman missed out this one with a knee injury. Meanwhile, on-loan striker Jermaine Beckford was unavailable for Huddersfield against his parent club. He also has a hamstring strain. But despite both sides' absentees, it looked like a goal-fest might be on the cards after a blistering opening seven minutes. Both goals in the first game were scored inside the last 16 minutes at the John Smith's Stadium but neither side wasted any time finding the net in the replay. Within five minutes, Clayton handed the visitors the lead with a superb free-kick but they were ahead for just two minutes. Anthony Knockaert's corner caused pandemonium in Huddersfield's area and, when they failed to clear, Michael Keane was on hand to tuck home the equaliser. Leicester are 16 points and 16 places above Huddersfield in the table and it began to show as the hosts assumed control. Both members of their strike force, David Nugent and Marko Futacs, went close with headers in the second half as the home side began to turn the screw. But Huddersfield always carried a threat and it paid off after 75 minutes when Scannell fired home his superb winner. The 22-year-old darted into the Leicester area and squeezed between two challenges before planting a cool finish beyond Kasper Schmeichel. The visitors were then forced to defend for their lives as Leicester pressed hard for an equaliser but it never came.
