Slicers for Beginners: Extrusion, Retraction, Vase Mode, Supports

For many people using a 3d printing, the slicer is the hardest part of 3d printing. This is part 2 in a 2 part series where I introduce more advanced slicer topics to people new to 3d printing or folks looking for a refresher. This 2nd part cover more complex topics including extruder multiples, retraction, combing and z-hop, vase mode prints and selective supports. This video is unique as many of the techniques, hints, and suggestions are demonstrated in Cura, PrusaSlicer, and Simplify3d. In my examples, I use Cura 4.1, PrusaSlicer 2.0 and Simplify3d 4.1. I use these techniques on my Prusa i3 Mk3, on Creality Ender 3 pro and Ender 5 printers and on multiple Monoprice 3d prints.
