At the 2022 TV Week Logie Awards the newest member of the Hall Of Fame was announced as sports broadcasting legend Bruce McAvaney became the 37th member of the Logie Hall Of Fame he was presented by AFL Legend the great Leigh Matthews one of the greatest commentators of all time started his career in television in 1978 as a sports anchor for Seven News in Adelaide and host a racing show called Racetrack and was the lead play by play announcer for the SANFL in the early 80s he moved to Channel Ten in 1983 as sports anchor for Ten News in Melbourne called the Melbourne Cup in the mid 80s called special exhibition VFL matches including the Battle Of Britain with Carlton and North Melbourne with a young Eddie McGuire his 1st Olympics was in 1988 at Soul in 1990 he joined Channel Seven calling and presenting AFL, Olympics, Horse Racing, Tennis, Rugby Union and Golf among others he has called 20 AFL Grand Final’s, 10 Olympics including calling Cathy Freeman in the 400m at Sydney 2000 he was the host of the short lived Seasons in 1993 and was the host of Talking Footy from 1995 to 1998 and again from 2001 to 2003 he his very deserving a long and successful career the face of Seven Sport in the 90s, 00s and 10s he his the greatest of time in sports commentators in Australia this is Bruce McAvaney Hall Of Fame speech in 4K Ultra HD enjoy the video. © 2022 Nine Network Australia all rights reserved I don’t own this footage all rights go to the Nine Network Australia.
