Spring is starting to move through the farm. In this episode, we focus on the essentials, planting new seeds and checking in on what’s already in the ground and our seed trays. Two weeks on, some are just beginning… while the lentils planted only a week ago are already pushing through fast. 🌿 Support our work: https://buymeacoffee.com/backtobasics... The vegetable garden is slowly expanding. We clear grass around the beds, making space for what’s coming next. Higher up on the farm, things take a turn. A rollover with the 385kg cutter reminds me how quickly things can go wrong out here. Luckily, both me and the machine walk away with only a few bruises. It could have been a very different story, but solid engineering made all the difference. We think there's nothing better than harvesting our own oranges from the lower terraces, and stocking up on fresh juice for the week ahead. Nature’s vitamins. We finish the day watching the spring full moon rise over Covilhã and the village of Belmonte. Life here keeps moving… slowly, but always forward.
