Today we're trying out the brand new English Electric Wren by Rara-Avis Sims, over the beautiful Andrewsfield scenery by Burning Blue Design. The Wren first flew in 1921 and only had 3hp. It was one of the very first ultralight designs. It had an empty weight of only 105 kg (232 lb) and was incredibly fuel efficient. It managed to cover 87.5 miles (140.8 km) with only one imperial gallon (4.5 liters) of fuel. Only 3 were build and one still flies with the Shuttleworth Collection. After really enjoying Rara-Avis Sims Flying Flea, I was really looking forward to the Wren, and have to say I’m very happy with my purchase. The flight model and visual model are just as good, but now we’ve also got custom sounds. Included are two variants, one with the original 3 hp engine (the one in the video) and one with an 8 hp engine, to make it a bit more flyable. Both variants are available with the same paint schemes and feature 3 different rudder/vertical stabilizer versions. I’m glad that there are developers who cover little known or quirky aircraft designs and I’m really looking forward to what’s next from Rara-Avis. The scenery is available here (or in the in-game marketplace): https://burningbluedesign.com/product...
