Fumi Amano is a multidisciplinary artist working in glass and sculpture. Fumi uses recycled materials, performance, and humor to connect with her audience on a deeper level while addressing challenging subject matters especially related to assumptions about Japanese women. (Full video published Nov. 2020.) Why subscribe to GEEX Talks? GEEX pools resources from subscribing institutions and individuals to support speaker honorariums and public programming. In so doing, GEEX seeks to offer greater compensation for featured speakers; increase accessibility; and build a living archive of contemporary glass practices. For full access to the GEEX Talks archive, visit: https://www.geex.glass/support/subscribe FORMAT In 2020-21, lectures premiered on Mondays at 6:15PM US-Central. GEEX Talks lectures were publicly available for a month-long period, and then only accessible to current GEEX subscribers. GEEX accepts questions from the community for five days following the lecture premiere, which are then included in a follow-up Q&A session with the artist. Q&A videos are published the following week and are exclusively available for current GEEX subscribers. ABOUT THE ARTIST Fumi Amano is a multidisciplinary artist working in glass and sculpture.
