Maria Mandl was a violent female guard who rose the ranks at the infamous Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz. She was known for her quick temper, cruel punishments, and ruthless beatings, all of which earned her the nickname "The Beast." While she would eventually pay for her crime against the thousands of Jewish prisoners under her control, those who survived are still haunted by the memory of Maria "The Beast" Mandl. Produced by David Neumayr and Christian Strasser, this documentary film speaks about the participation of women as perpetrators in the Holocaust and how we deal with it. It also explores the life of Mandl and shows how heavy the amount of memory lies on Mandl's relatives, friends–and on her victims the former inmates. Please share, like and tell what us you think.
