Illustrator - Drawn line text effect - turn type into a single line object Learn how to turn a piece of type into a single line object so you can do things like add an effect or brush stroke to the line. You can also use the line with a cutter in circumstances where you need a single line object such as for foiling. This effect can be combined with the Neon Graphic style to create neon text and is a great way to create text that looks like it has been created using brush strokes and even watercolor (if you use a watercolor brush stoke with it).
