Mission Trip to Kenya - October 2024 In October of this year, DTN sent a team of seven from various Neuma locations to Kenya. During our visit, we were blessed with the opportunity to connect with all our mission partners in the country. Our time together was deeply encouraging, both for them and for us, as we shared in ministry and prayer. The trip felt like a true family reunion, strengthened by the bonds of fellowship in Christ. It served as a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness, and the experience was both timely and uplifting. We conducted a Leadership Day and a Church Day with Pastor Vincent at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro in Southern Kenya bordering Tanzania, where we had the privilege of meeting and imparting into pastors and leaders from various denominations in the region. Pastor Vincent is actively mentoring and raising up leaders while also planting churches, making a lasting impact on the community. Following this, we gathered with Ben’s Children’s Fortress Africa team for a leaders’ retreat, where we encouraged and uplifted his leaders through meaningful one-on-one conversations, leaving them empowered and inspired. We then visited the children’s shelters where his team is working, sharing the Gospel with the children, and witnessing responses and salvations through various outreach methods. Some leaders observed the approaches we used, which they found particularly effective to reach their community with the gospel. One young pastor, whom Ben is mentoring at one of the Boys’ Shelters, asked thoughtful questions about different ways to share the Gospel and disciple others. Ben’s team is innovative and forward-thinking, and it was inspiring to see their passion for ministry and commitment to reaching the lost. Pastor Jeremiah endured a challenging year due to the demolition of their church, which initially left the congregation feeling disheartened but ultimately strengthened their unity and faith in Christ. Our visit, coming after this difficult event, allowed us to assess their situation and offer encouragement, love, and support. Despite the setbacks, the congregation is doing remarkably well and reminded us of Romans 5:3-5 (NKJV) “3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Through your generous support, Neuma has provided a tent for them to gather under, which they are incredibly grateful for. While we wish we could do more, this provision has been a significant and much-appreciated alternative during this difficult season. We also visited and ministered at the informal settlements where Pastor Eric is leading his church and school, witnessing first-hand the impact God is making through him and his team in these communities. Additionally, we had the opportunity to spend time with Anastasia and Joe’s Disability Partnership Abroad team, as well as the beneficiaries of their work. The entire mission trip was a tremendous success, marked by fruitful ministry, deepened relationships, and the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
