In this video I demonstrate the calibration process again but this time I'm using a crude Saltwater method that is able to be replicated in most homes and provides a degree of accuracy that is far better than I had when my device was shipped new from the factory. If you make this solution and test your meter first and the result is close to 350 - 400 ppm or 700 - 800 uS/cm you probably don't need to bother calibrating. If your readings are way out then calibrate to 720 - 750 uS/cm and you should be good to use your meter with a fair amount of confidence. Of course if you have a set of digital scales accurate to 3 decimal places it is possible to make a NaCl solution to whatever concentration you wish and it is always best to calibrate your meter to a solution close to the intended use. I've assumed my rainwater to have a low TDS of only 10 ppm. If you are going to use tap water it may contain more than that depending on your city's water supply quality.
