Blue Skies was born out of one of the darkest battles of my life. There was a church with a massive statue of Jesus on the cross. I used to run until I saw His face. No matter how heavy life felt, I would push myself down that stretch of road, sprinting toward the cross, and somehow it reminded me to keep going. This song is my testimony of those storms: depression, shame, and feeling out of place. But it is also about what I learned on that road. God never leaves us in the storm.
