Today, we're diving into `autistic adult` executive function, a crucial aspect of the `autism spectrum` that is often misunderstood. We explore the gap between `knowing vs understanding` and how `executive dysfunction` creates strain in neurodiverse relationships. Achieving better `emotional health` starts with recognizing and working with these challenges. 💡✨ I discussed autistic executive function and its impact on neurodiverse relationships. I explained that executive function is a neurological brain system, not a personality flaw, and described how autistic adults experience challenges with task initiation, transitions, time perception, and emotional regulation. I provided six practical systems to manage these challenges, including externalizing tasks, using micro-commitments, building transition buffers, holding weekly alignment meetings, mapping energy patterns, and replacing shame with neutral language.
