Sunday August 26 2012 at 10.35. The 9.41 Bristol to Gloucester (10.32) train clearing Gloucester station (on the left) and the 8.37 London to Cheltenham (10.55) train pulling into the station. Gloucester station has the 2nd longest platform in the UK at 1,977 feet. Cambridge is 3rd at 1,542 feet and Chelmsford 1st at 2,034 feet. Most trains have to reverse into the station and then pull out crossing the level crossing twice. There are 5 tracks on this level crossing making it the 4th largest behind Maxey, Helpston and Exeter. The red paint around the warning lights has faded away and the 23 second delay in raising the barrier is too long. I filmed this crossing 4 times and the delay was always too long. Nearly 2 minutes of the wait here was cut.
