Today, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee participated in a public distribution programme held in Bardhaman. The event highlighted her continued commitment to delivering government welfare schemes directly to the people. During the programme, she engaged with beneficiaries, reinforcing the administration’s efforts to ensure transparent distribution of aid and essential resources to communities across West Bengal. During her speech, Banerjee accused the Union government of withholding GST dues and other funds meant for West Bengal. Despite this, she said, the state continues to implement pro-people schemes that benefit millions. Raising the language and cultural identity issue, Banerjee alleged that Bangla-speaking workers in states like Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Odisha face harassment — even claiming a recent case where a Bengali worker died following an assault. She contrasted this with West Bengal’s inclusive approach, saying over one crore migrant workers live and work peacefully in the state. Banerjee also made a pointed remark about Gujarati expatriates returning from the USA, while claiming that Bengali intellect fuels global institutions like Harvard and NASA. Taking aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she dismissed allegations of corruption in the state and asserted that tactics like the NRC and “infiltrator” rhetoric will not succeed in West Bengal. #MamataBanerjee, #Bardhaman, #PublicDistribution, #WestBengal, #TMC, #PDS, #KhadyaSathi, #WelfareSchemes, #StateVisit, #DirectBenefit Thank you for watching our video!
