Kwame Shakoor & Sr. Rafiah Jones ITSFAAM Healthy Marriage Cohort Members Imam Nadim Ali, LPC Sr. Naamau Tahiru, LCSW Shaykh Sabree Mateen Sr. Akanke Rasheed (Moderator) ITSFAAM, The Initiative to Strengthen Families of African-American Muslims, is a community-based project that was created after analyzing the results from a national survey done in partnership by MANA with other leading organization (Muslim Journal, Muslim Wellness Foundation, Al Ummah, and Conveners of Imam of WD Mohammad's community). The survey assessed the needs of the African-American Muslim community. The results showed that among the highest priorities was the need to strengthen African-American Muslim families in three areas: healthy marriages, young adult leadership, and youth engagement.
