V8 Pilots were produced between 1947 and 1951 V8 Pilots were a luxury Saloon that featured standard equipment such as huge Butler chrome headlamps and a Clayton Dewandre heater. This Pilot also features a bakelite dashboard, ashtray, door trim and steering wheel that has been correctly refurbished also having west of England cloth fully functioning privacy blind The Pilot was the first large post-war British Ford. The engine in this Pilot is a generously powered 3622cc 90 HP side valve flat head V8 engine with single Solex carburettor. This Ford V8 was first registered in 1951 as WMF 986. Finished in Eisenhower favourite colour Ludlow Green with contrasting trim that retains the original bench seats, headlining with correct period interior and interior lights, period car badges & benefits of new carburettor electric fuel pump new steering box and refurbished fuel tank, The V8 engine is in excellent running order & by the way starts off the key no hand cranking required An excellent example of the post war Ford V8, which retains much of the original pre war styling, that Ford modified for the post war market.
