Today, we'll be walking around Arnavutköy neighborhood, which is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus between Kuruçeşme and Bebek neighborhood. Thanks to restoration efforts, Arnavutköy now boasts an authentic architectural charm, with the removal of modern concrete structures giving it a more appealing touristy vibe. In the early 1980s, a coastal road was constructed in front of the mansions, curving from the Akıntıburnu area, known as the "pile road," to the present-day Anatolian High School. Despite having two lanes, the road has managed to retain its pleasant promenade-like character. As for me, Arnavutköy is one of the most undervalued neighborhood. An I haven't seen lots of tourists here. One possible reason for Arnavutköy being less well-known compared to places like Kuzguncuk neighborhood or Beşiktaş could be its relative distance. Just imagine, reaching Arnavutköy would involve a delightful cruise through the Bosphorus, passing under the iconic Bosphorus Bridge (officially known as the 15 July Martyrs Bridge) and getting a close-up view of the historic Ortaköy Mosque, all without having to spend tons of money. Now you know the perfect spot to spend your time and capture plenty of interesting photos without the overwhelming presence of tourist crowds. It's a hidden gem where you can truly enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings and architecture.
