What Makes Shea Heights Awesome? Plenty of things...

In a world that can sometimes feel disconnected, the neighbourhood of Shea Heights retains a real sense of community. According to the Shea Heights Community Alliance, that community feeling is a huge asset in their work to promote mental health and wellness among local youth. The group is made up of the Shea Heights Community Centre Board, the St. John Bosco School, and medical professionals from Eastern Health and Memorial University. This winter, the group won the first-ever President’s Award for Public Engagement Partnerships, in recognition of their collaboration. As part of their prize, Memorial’s DELTS and Office of Public Engagement worked with the partnership to create a video about their work. So, what’s so awesome about Shea Heights?
