And Lila stood with cheeks aflame — For once no spell could hide her shame. A boy had come not long ago, With messy hair like summer glow. When Oliver would laugh or grin, Her thoughts would trip and tangle in. Her magic sparked, her fingers shook, She dropped her wand, she lost her book. The bravest witch we’ve ever known Turned softer than fresh-fallen snow. What’s happening? She doesn’t know. Her heart beats fast, her cheeks still glow. She’s read of love in storybooks — But never felt these trembling looks. Oh Lila, Lila, what’s this spell? Your cheeks are red, your words won’t tell! No thunder crash, no broomstick swell— Just one small crush you hide too well! Oh Lila, Lila, hearts can fly— But sometimes magic bites… oh my! She bought a card with hearts so bright, Then wrote his name—no, not quite right. She scratched it out, she tried once more, Then bought another at the store. “Dear Oli—” no, too bold, too sweet. “Dear friend—” her heart skipped half a beat. Ink was smudged by trembling hand, Love’s the hardest spell to plan. She took a breath, she sealed it tight, A little charm to guide its flight. “If I can’t speak,” she softly said, “My Valentine can fly instead.” Oh Lila, Lila, what’s this spell? Your paper wings begin to swell! Through winter air it starts to glide— Your secret heart can no longer hide! Oh Lila, Lila, watch it fly— Please let it land… don’t let it bite! Oliver played out in the square, Snow melting lightly in his hair. The children gasped as from above Came fluttering a card of love! It twirled around his laughing face, It looped and spun in airy grace— He reached his hand with bright delight— CHOMP! It bit his finger tight! He yelped and ran down Market Lane, The Valentine gave chase again! It snapped and pecked, it would not miss, A very toothy paper kiss! Through door and crack it slipped inside, No latch nor hinge could help him hide! The children shrieked and tried to grab— But still it chased its chosen lad! At street’s far end stood Lila small, Blushing deeper than them all. He saw her there and dashed her way— “Please make it stop!” he heard himself say. Her voice was lost, her throat was tight, But up she raised her wand of light. One gentle wave, one whispered sigh— And paper wings forgot to fly. Oh Lila, Lila, brave and shy, Your magic calmed the storming sky. No biting now, no paper chase— Just quiet snow and blushing face. Oh Lila, Lila, hearts don’t yell— They simply beat… and cast their spell. He caught the card with careful grin, And read the words she’d written in. He laughed, then bowed just slightly too— “I hoped,” he said, “this came from you.” “Come walk with me,” he gently pled, “To market stalls where sweets are spread. Two gingerbread, perhaps a few— And maybe I’ll blush… just like you.” They walked beneath the lantern light, Two shadows small, the future bright. And Lila learned what witches tell— The sweetest magic’s not a spell. #FantasyMusic #BardSong #MedievalMusic #CelticFolk #DnDMusic #TavernMusic #WitchSong #FantasyLove #ValentinesSong #RoleplayMusic
