Rashbaum represented Adelson's son, Charlie Adelson, who was convicted last year on murder charges and sentenced to life in prison. Donna Adelson opted to hire Rashbaum represent her despite the fact that her legal needs may be at odds with those of her son, who has an appeal pending with the 1st District Court of Appeal. After Rashbaum’s move Tuesday afternoon, Leon Circuit Judge Stephen Everett announced that the trial will be continued and that prospective jurors would be sent home.
