we got tattoos! from the world's oldest tattoo artist, apo whang od. watch as we make our way from Sagada to Buscalan to meet a living legend 🤗 We made our way to Buscalan Village on a scenic motorcycle ride to meet the legendary tattoo artist, APO WHANG OD. While waiting for our turn, we decided to get tattoos from Loreta and Xyce, also artists from the Butbut tribe of Buscalan, Kalinga. Their history is rich in tradition. Nowadays, they are mostly reliant on tourism brought by the fame of Apo Whang Od. It was amazing to see a village working together for the good of all. Their traditions are taught and shared with the younger artists who are going to carry them out for more years to come. We went there not really knowing what to expect, but we were so glad we travelled the 4hrs (per way) from Sagada to Kalinga. The journey was truly worth it. Our guide was Sunday, he was very insightful. We stayed in Vista Homestay. Home of the youngest artist in the village.
