The Ferrograph Studio 8 is the first, only and last Ferrograph to truly be a professional machine not designed for the home market as well, unlike the Logic 7 which was indeed used in both, it does have studio standard balanced inputs and outputs (though the BBC did modify some to do so) I have been restoring these two machines for a number of evenings now, both of which were very faulty when I got them, 80% of the issues was down to bad capacitors, the rest can be contributed to the capacitors failing and blowing transistors and diodes. Ferrograph had stopped manufacturing recorders at this point and before, their second to last machine was a re-badge B77 called the series 77, this machine is a recorder built for them by Wayne Kerr. This logic operated machine is quite unusual, iy features things like fiber-optic lighting, temperature effected components and unusual counter controls as you will see in the video. These were very short lived as they were coming out just as Digital was coming in, they were also not as favoure as the Studer machines which already had a solid reputation.
