I traveled from Seoul to Gyodongdo, the island at the very western edge of South Korea. From there, we can easily peer over the straight into North Korea and see the daily lives of North Koreans in action. I was surprised at how the market and the town of Daeryong on Gyodongdo was alive with travelers and culture historians visiting the island for a bit of history and fun of the area. Besides a skywalk Gyodongdo has a farmer's market and other unique sites for travelers of all ages and nationalities to see! Some of the best Korean food you will find is in the countryside, so don't forget to eat the freshest Korean food at the Korean restaurants located in Daeryong Market and around Gyodongdo!
