In this TEDxBeloit presentation, a college dean (Cecil Youngblood) and a recent college graduate (Caitlin Patterson) discuss their unique approach to combatting sexual assault on campus—one that involves and invites greater (and more positive) conversations among college administrators, students and others. Cecil Youngblood - Currently serving as Beloit College Associate Dean of Students for Inclusive Living and Learning, Title IX Coordinator and Director of Intercultural Affairs. Having been a part of the Beloit College community for 19 years served as Men's Head Basketball Coach, Men and Women's Golf coach, Assistant Athletic Director in those first 10 years. Graduate of Augustan College with a BA/BS in Biology. Received masters degree in Educational Administration from John Lewis University. Caitlin Paterson is a 2015 graduate of Beloit College whose studies as a Sociology and Critical Identities Studies major centered on how social environments form, shape and produce identity. She is currently working in a variety of capacities related to sexual assault prevention and response at Beloit College and in the surrounding community including developing programs at Beloit College to specifically increase male engagement in sexual assault prevention. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
